A comment from the Tremont Lady Turks coach summed up a great game..."They scared the sh_t out of us today!" Both teams can be very proud of their seasons and every aspect of Saturday's Regional Championship game in Tremont. Not a run was scored until the bottom of 6th inning when with two on base Briley Spencer delivered a picture-perfect swing and powered the ball out of the park. An amazing game by both teams with very notable and appreciated great sportsmanship foremost by both teams. It was one of the best high school games I have ever seen/photographed.
The game photos have been edited and are now online in my online photo center for viewing/purchase....All the best to the Tremont Lady Turks in the sectional and beyond....bring that hardware back to Central Illinois Girls !!!!

I know that grandpa Bob
had a huge smile on his face and a lump in his throat when Hannah Louise
Huber walked on the field for the last home game of the Softball season.
Hannah was seriously injured during the regular basketball season and this
was her first official appearance in a sporting event since that time.
Although only for one pitch, it was great to see this great Havana Lady Duck
athlete back in the official starting line-up. Hannah is simply an amazing
and beautiful young lady who has also been quite an impressive athlete over
the many years she has been involved in many Lady Ducks programs. All the
best Hannah, thanks for all the great memories, photos, and friendship...you
are an amazing young lady!!!!!

I was back out to the softball diamond earlier this evening for a bit to get a few shots of the Lady Ducks taking on Illini Bluffs....I have them edited and posted for your viewing/purchase :

The HHS Lady Ducks Softball Team is having a great season, going into Tuesday night's game against MidWest Central, their record was 12-3 for a great record and placing them solidly into post-season play.....Great job girls, the photos are edited and uploaded at the gallery link below:
HHS Softball Vs Midwest Central 4-30-2013
Was able to get work finished then it was time to really get into Louisiana from the old historic plantations of the Old Deep South, the great Cajun country of the Swamp, and yes, even the Big Easy! The scenery is almost as amazing as the people, but the awesome Cajun food is even better if that's possible, and believe me, I dove so deep into the crawfish, the Louisiana Oysters, the Jambalaya, the Gumbo, and shrimp that someone had to hang onto my ankles, everything was so remarkable and flavorful!!!! I was even invited to meet a bunch of great folks at a down-home picnic with all the trimmings as you will see in the photos...oh, and did I forget to mention the 14 foot 4 inch gator on a private conservation area....now put it all together you've got the only place on earth like Louisiana..... Welcome to the Swamp! 4-25-2013
Tanner Osing
did smoke the mile with a run just over 4 minutes in the HHS Track Meet on
Tuesday, April 16th in windy and cold conditions. It was a great meet with
lots of talent from Midwest Central, Rushville-Industry, North Fulton, and
of course the Havana Ducks.
I remember a number of years ago seeing and photographing a Jr High
basketball game with Tanner playing so well that when the game ended I went
over to the exit of the gym as the team left the court to congratulate him
on a great game. I hadn't met Tanner before that, but of course had known
his grandpa Dale Osing most of my life as he was my Principal, History
Teacher, and coach at good ole Balyki HS. Tanner continued to play
basketball into high school at a very good level of talent and
ability...until he really got serious about running, and to say the least,
he does know how to run. Just watching him warm up leaves no doubt that he
is serious, dedicated, and knowledgeable about the technical side of
running. I don't get to many track and field events recently but I was very
impressed with his attack on the mile race. Great job Tanner...you rocked it
!!!!!

HHS Hosts Area Track Meet 4-16-2013
The 2013 Havana High School Prom...
WOW !!!! What a great
prom!!! I have been to a lot of proms but I have
to say this was probably the best one I have seen. Just a really wonderful
group of amazing young folks...everyone looked very beautiful and handsome
and a huge congratulations to the Junior Class for a great job of decorating
and organizing this event. With all the great planning they did, no one
could have topped a moment that brought a huge round of applause from
everyone in the gym when Summer Rae and Zack Pierson were
introduced and reached center stage, Zack dropped to one knee and proposed
to Summer to create a very special moment.
This year's queen and king
is two great choices, Sarah Bonnett and Garrett Beck.....
congratulations to a couple of really great young folks. The court was a
really great group and what a tough choice this had to be.....with Jay
Stinauer, Katlyn Rose Moita Taylor, Garrett Beck, Sarah Bonnett, Trey
Murphy, Tori Hackman, Carly Baker, Tyler Ferree and Channing Holtman.
